The Venetian renovated its five-acre pool deck for the 2021 season with new cabanas with some private plunge pools, a new restaurant from 50 Eggs, and a revamped cocktail program from New York City’s barman Sam Ross, who created the drinks at The Dorsey, Rosina, and Electra Cocktail Club at the resort.
The pools that span the length of the Venetian and Palazzo now include hints of the Italian Riviera in its design, with Italian art and architecture peppered throughout. Also new, daybeds and chaise lounges within the pools and 10 new cabanas.
For a little refresher, the Venetian pool deck includes four large pools, including three infinity pools, surrounded by pool chairs, in-pool ledge loungers, and several daybeds located in the center of the pool. The Venetian deck offers a splash pad for kids and a quieter spa pool for relaxation.
The Palazzo pool deck offers seven pools, while the Venezia Tower features an intimate pool garden with partially shaded areas throughout the day.
Tao Beach opted not to reopen for the 2021 season and is going through a major renovation that kept the dayclub closed in 2020 as well.
The 55 cabanas at the Venetian’s pools range from 180 to 1,450 square feet with air conditioning and a personal cabana host. Cabanas for 20 come with a plunge pool, a daybed, a private shower, chilled face towels, vintage games, and two 75-inch HDTVs. All Venetian cabanas come with a private restroom, built-in charging stations, a fully stocked refrigerator, carafes of fruit-infused water, four chaise lounges, and a fruit plate. Those without plunge pools can accommodate up to 15 people.
Over on the Palazzo side, cabanas can accommodate up to eight people and include air conditioning, four chaise lounges, a stocked refrigerator, a 32-inch screen, misters, and a ceiling fan. Customers can request alcohol cars that include bloody Marys or a choice of classic, Hugo, or Limoncello spritzes, Bellinis, or Rossinis.
For dining options, the new Capri Pool Restaurant & Bar sits on the Palazzo pool deck. The restaurant from 50 Eggs Hospitality Group, the parent company of Yardbird Southern Table & Bar and Chica restaurants, features an al fresco bar, lounge, and casual dining space. Dishes include a breakfast menu of breakfast burritos, buttermilk pancakes, avocado toast, acai bowl, and quinoa egg white omelet sandwich. For lunch, diners can order sushi, pizzas, a Capri salad, or sandwiches.
Last year, the resort opened Spritz Restaurant & Bar, a sister restaurant to Capri from 50 Eggs, on the Venetian side for breakfast and lunch with slushies and a spritz cocktail menu. Diners can eat al fresco or order from the walk-up window and dine from their pool chair.
Next to the Venetian pool deck, diners can find Truth & Tonic Wellness Café with a vegan food and drink menu.
Sam Ross revamped the poolside cocktail menu with shaken classics, slushies, and low and no-alcohol cocktails. The Spa Day comes with vodka, coconut water, elderflower, lime, and agave; the Watermelon Cooler features tequila, lime, watermelon, Cocchi Rosa, and agave; and the non-alcoholic refresher Reviver #9 contains coconut water, ginger, grapefruit, lime, and agave.
Cabanas can be booked by calling 866-834-2319 and same-day cabana reservations can be made directly at the pool deck.
