If it seems like getting up to order a drink or snacks while lazing the pool seems like took much trouble, the pools at MGM Resorts have you covered. Now pool-goers up and down the Strip can use their smartphones to order everything from beers and guacamole to mojitos and margaritas, what the gaming giant is calling a first for the city.
Sunbathers can look for their chair tag and number, equipped with a QR code, and pull up the menu. From there, a world of burgers, burrito bowls, cocktails, and more comes up, and each can be personalized. Make that margarita a double. Add some extra cheese to a crab omelet.
At checkout, customers can enter their seat number, name, and payment information. Once the order is ready, an MGM Resorts employee delivers the food and drink seatside.
Already, the pools at Aria, the Bellagio, Vdara, MGM Grand, Mandalay Bay, the Delano, and the Mirage started using poolside ordering, while the pools at the Park MGM, NoMad, Luxor, New York-New York, and the Excalibur add it this week. By June 1, pool customers at the Signature at MGM Grand can order from their phones.
Of course, those who want to continue ordering in person can do so.
