Honolulu-born Paina Cafe has debuted its second Ninth Island location and now fans in the southwest no longer have to travel to Spring Mountain Road for its Hawaiian-inspired menu.
Now open daily at the intersection of Decatur Boulevard and Blue Diamond Road, Paina Cafe sits few steps from the recently opened Bella Vita Italian restaurant and an under construction ProteinHouse vegan restaurant.
Featuring a similar menu to its original counter-service restaurant at the Korean Town Plaza, the new cafe is opening at 8 a.m. to only serve its very popular mochi doughnuts, served in taro, strawberry, red velvet, matcha, and guava flavors.
At 10 a.m., the entire menu becomes available, including the cafe’s pioneering poke bowl creations; plus ahi or chicken katsu; lomi-lomi salmon; teriyaki beef; or chicken, kalua pig, and fried saimin, with the options of spam musabi and onigiri sides.
Paina Cafe, 4965 Blue Diamond Road, Suite 125, 702-272-2790. Open daily from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
