Henderson Silver Knights Fans Will Need to Wait for Debut of MacKenzie River Pizza

Inspired by the layout and amenities of the Vegas Golden Knights practice facility in Summerlin, AHL fans visiting the Henderson Silver Knights’ own arena on Water Street can now enjoy a snack and daily cup of coffee, but will need to wait for a full-service dining experience.

Planned to include an outdoor patio facing downtown Henderson, glass windows looking down on the two practice rinks, and direct access from the outdoor plaza, MacKenzie River Pizza, Grill & Pub remains under construction on the 120,000-square-foot Lifeguard Arena’s second floor.

Operated by Bill Foley’s Montana-based Glacier Restaurant Group, who also owns both hockey teams, MacKenzie River Pizza, Grill & Pub is currently hiring and updating potential applicants the restaurant will not open until the fall.

Expected to serve a very similar menu found at Summerlin’s City National Arena, the venue also caters to non-hockey fans looking for a casual sports bar destination, offering a lengthy collection of pub grub favorites and happy hour specials, plus pizzas, burgers, flatbreads, pasta, shareable plates, and a dedicated kid’s menu.

Future hours and an estimated opening date have not been announced.

Meanwhile, visitors searching for a quick snack option inside the facility can now visit the Public Works Coffee Bar, a second Water Street outlet for the Henderson company and a five-minute walk from the popular three-year old original.

Located inside the northeast corner of the arena, with its own views of Water Street, the coffee shop counter is serving daily from 7 a.m., featuring hot and cold drinks, teas, lattes, hot chocolate, barista specials, and craft sodas, plus an evolving selection of locally sourced pastries, sweet and savory items, Danishes, and cinnamon rolls.
