A pop-up bar opening in June promises a tiki bar filled with island-themed cocktails and kitschy decor. The Front Yard at Ellis Island transforms the restaurant’s second floor into a tiki bar dubbed The Island at Ellis, running for one month only, from June 3 to July 4.
The temporary bar features a 15-foot swordfish, staff wearing tropical-themed attire, and tiki-style vignettes. On the menu, dishes such as a teriyaki chicken burger, tiki quesadilla, and coconut shrimp, only available on the second level of the restaurant. The menu includes 10 drinks will also be available, with beer cocktails, and Ellis Island spins on tiki classics, many served as individual cocktails or in punch bowls.
The Front Yard’s brunch and dinner menus will be available as well, with dishes such as stuffed crunch toast, salmon and lox flatbread, bacon mac and cheese, and a giant pretzel. All of Ellis Island’s beers will also be on the menu, served in specialty glassware made specifically for the pop-up.
The pop-up will feature two blackjack tables and a variety of slot machines in a lounge area located by the Terrace Bar.
The pop-up tiki bar opens June 3, with hours on Saturdays and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 4 p.m. to midnight; Mondays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 4 to 10 p.m.; and Tuesdays through Thursdays from 4 to 10 p.m.
