Josh Molina spent much of his time during the pandemic reinventing Makers & Finders, his coffee shops with Latin dishes in the Arts District and Downtown Summerlin. The company’s CEO opened Take It Easy, his Colombian pastry shop in Chinatown, last July as a place to showcase some of his family’s favorite sweets such as buñuelos, little fried dough balls made to order and filled with cotija, and pandebono, a cornbread ball with cotija and queso fresco, and roast the beans for his coffee shops. He added dinner service to both Makers & Finders locations, along with desserts. He worked on an app to make ordering easier and expanded his takeout.

And now Molina takes Makers & Finders on the road with a pop-up kiosk at Area15, the 200,000-square-foot entertainment venue with interactive artwork west of I-15 near Spring Mountain Road.

The coffee bar officially opened its kiosk on Monday, June 14, as the first coffee brand at Area15, bringing a sampling of its greatest hits, including craft teas, lattes, coffees, matcha, and espressos, plus two all-new, never-before-seen beverages exclusive to this limited-time location. Molina says the kiosk’s soft opening brought long lines of people awaiting salted caramel lattes and matchaccinos.

Molina says he revamped a kiosk Makers & Finders used for Life Is Beautiful — the Downtown arts, music, and food festival — with butcher block counters and an industrial design for the Area15 pop-up. His team came up with specialty drinks to go along with the colorful backdrop of Area15. A Rainbow Latte glows with rose syrup and vanilla while customers can take the Glowed Up that combines with Earl Grey syrup, fresh lemon, and tonic water under a black light to discover this drink’s aura.

Also on the roster, an espresso bar with lavender-infused and Mexican spice lattes, a cold-brewed hibiscus tea called Just Peachy with lemonade and peach puree, the cafe con leche with filtered coffee and condensed milk steamed with whole milk, and more.

For now, the kiosk uses pastries such as muffins, honey wheat bagels, chocolate croissants, cheese Danishes, and black and white cookies from Great Buns and plans to add Colombian pastries from Take It Easy soon.

The kiosk sits in the Spine next to the stairs near Wild Muse Boutique. Makers & Finders at Area15 is open daily from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
