Serving “sushi on the road” since 2019, chef and owner Jose Luis Alvarez has grown his busy food truck into a bricks-and-mortar restaurant and is serving an expanded version of his Japanese-Mexican fusion creations at a new home in the northwest.
Louie Louie Sushi Bar y Más is now open daily at the Rancho Sierra Shopping Center, filling 2,325 square feet at the intersection of Craig Road and Rancho Drive, formerly occupied by Sushi Bar Sage and Kaisho Sushi + Ramen.
Alavarez’s resume includes time at Osaka Japanese Cuisine on Lake Mead Boulevard and Solaro by Wolfgang Puck at the Palazzo and true to his restaurant’s name, the lengthy menu includes choices of sushi, nigiri, and sashimi, plus tacos, tostadas, and micheladas.
Still keeping his hibachi-equipped food truck in business, Louie Louie also offers hibachi grilled lobster, shrimp, filet mignon, and salmon, plus a collection of poke salads, special and classic rolls, and appetizers of stuffed jalapeño, gyoza, fried calamari, and shrimp tempura.
Louie Louie Sushi Bar y Más, 4408 N. Rancho Drive, 702-483-5744. Open daily from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Online ordering available.
