Executive chef Lyle Kaku took over culinary operations at the Sahara earlier this year and now diners will be able to discover his new direction for the resort when Zeffer’s café debuts in late July.
Planned to be open daily from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. and described as an “elevated casual dining experience,” the menu will offer comfort food classics for breakfast and lunch, plus chicken and waffles; Frosted Flakes French toast encrusted with Frosted Flakes, banana, and Nutella; plus a Dungeness crab omelet.
Previewed entrées include prosciutto tartine, a Nashville-inspired hot chicken sandwich, and the Zeffer’s burger made with Angus beef and topped with lettuce, tomato, and jalapeño-bacon jam on a brioche bun.

From 5 p.m. until closing, a full dinner menu will be joined by a collection of familiar Chinese dishes, including Kung Pao chicken, Mongolian beef, honey walnut prawns, and wonton noodle soup.
Across the resort, ongoing construction projects include remodeling upgrades to the main entrance and porte-cochère, plus the creation of Ballo Italian Soul from Shawn McClain, Chickie’s & Pete’s imported from Philadelphia, and the fall arrival of Noodle Den from chef Guoming “Sam” Xin.
