An unusual addition to Chinatown's very successful Shanghai Plaza, New Mexico franchise The Paleta Bar has debuted its first expansion into Nevada, serving a sweet and savory menu headlined by customizable ice pops.
Operating more than two dozen locations across California, New Mexico, Florida, and Texas, the 1,091-square-foot counter-service dessert shop on Spring Mountain Road sits a short distance from Pepper Lunch, Kura Revolving Sushi Bar, and 85C Bakery Cafe.
Named and inspired by the Spanish version of a Popsicle, customers choose from a roster of a dozen paleta flavors, including avocado, Oreo, mango, banana, coconut, or coffee, followed by a dip into chocolate or powdered chile and chamoy, and toppings of nuts and candy.
Popular combinations include the Lorenzo Antonio, created with a taro paleta, dark chocolate, and almonds, and the Rainbow, made with bubble gum, white chocolate, and sprinkles.
Diners can also order fruit cups, aguas frescas, elote, and the “Dorinachos,” prepared with Doritos, cheese, elote, and jerky.
The Paleta Bar, 4258 Spring Mountain Road, Suite A 101. Open daily from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
