Chicken sandwiches and crepes headline the menu at Blue Hen Chicken Co., the new breakfast and lunch spot on the westside. The restaurant works with regional farmers to source its ingredients.
The restaurant moved into the former Jackie Bee Boba Express space at 6250 W. Charleston Boulevard to serve breakfast on weekdays from 9 to 11 a.m. Start with a house chorizo toast with whipped farm eggs and fontina cheese or try one of the egg sandwiches with a breaded chicken thigh, with options to add bacon or avocado. A blueberry French toast and crepes with chocolate and cherries, strawberry and mango, or Nutella and banana round out breakfast.
Lunch from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday offers the namesake Blue Hen with a breaded chicken thigh, as well and chicken sandwiches with an egg or pickled chilies and peanut sauce. Sweet corn succotash, a salad with chilled chicken thigh, or slaw round out the menu.
Brunch on Saturdays combines the two menus.
Blue Hen Chicken Co., 6250 W. Charleston Boulevard #120, 702-998-9848. Open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Saturday for brunch from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
