Consider July a very busy month for magician Criss Angel, as his Mindfreak show returns to the Planet Hollywood Resort on July 7 and within weeks, his new family-friendly restaurant debuts in Overton, Nevada.
Located 45 minutes from his stage on the Las Vegas Strip, Criss Angel’s breakfast, lunch, and pizza, also known as Cablp, will replace the former Sugar’s Home Plate on Moapa Valley Boulevard. The restaurant is currently hiring; its exterior signage has already been mounted, murals are painted on the side of the 2,120-square-foot space, and an abridged menu for the take-out window has been installed.
Specializing in East Coast-style pizza from chef Mike Baram, Angel has been sharing photographs of future burger dishes, nacho plates, and Belgian waffles overseen by executive chef Amy Coram Reynolds, whose resume lists time spent at Yardbird Southern Table at the Venetian and Wolfgang Puck Bar & Grill at the MGM Grand.
For customers in a hurry and using the express window, from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. options include a $4.99 breakfast sandwich, with egg, cheese, bacon, or sausage on an English muffin, plus double chocolate muffins, sugar waffles, and the $2.99 cinnamon crumb coffee cake.
Pizza slices to-go are served from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., priced at $2.99 for a regular slice and $3.49 for a pepperoni upgrade. The menu also features Italian ices, available in scoops, or as a quart to take home, and a wide range of beverage options including the in-house “Java’freak” coffee blend.
