In a bold move that might make some Las Vegas operators rethink their own expansion plans, instead of downtown, Chinatown, or Summerlin, locally revered sommelier, chef, and restaurateur Bank Atcharawan is next headed to Henderson, and sending the Patio Desserts & Drinks in a new direction.
Currently holding back an exact future site, Atcharawan is expanding to the Henderson neighborhood close to St. Rose Parkway and the 215 — a hotbed of casual dining options and booming residential development — and creating a sequel there to his Spring Mountain Road restaurant, Lamaii. The Henderson Lamaii is expected to open in winter 2021.
A fixture on the Las Vegas Eater 38 list, the Thai restaurant combines Atcharawan’s passions for creative and accessible dishes with a carefully curated, but affordable wine list. Both will be carried over to the new restaurant designed with a bar that opens onto patio seating.
Best associated with former local favorites Chada Thai & Wine and Chada Street, Atcharawan is also working to revamp the Patio Desserts & Drinks on Decatur Boulevard. Opening in 2017, the Patio specialized in Asian-inspired desserts, but will now transform into a garden-themed wine bar, appropriately named the Patio Wine Garden.
Looking to debut in August or September, Atcharawan promises a relaxing, easy-going atmosphere with its own reasonably priced wine list.
