Living under the motto of “bibs up, phones down, it’s shaking time,” New England-born Shaking Crab just arrived in the southwest, and already has plans for a second Las Vegas location serving an East Coast twist on Cajun spiced seafood.
Operating in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Connecticut, Shaking Crab launched six years ago in Newton, Massachusetts, specializing in seafood prepared in butter garlic sauces and a Louisiana-style Cajun spice mix.
Decorated with a nautical theme, Shaking Crab opened inside the former Pho Saigon 8 corner space earlier this month at the intersection of Maule Avenue and Rainbow Boulevard.
Serving a familiar menu for fans of boil-in the bag restaurants, choices include oysters, crab cakes, spicy calamari, and lobster cheesy fries appetizers, plus Alaskan king crab legs, shrimp, blue crab, crawfish, clams, mussels, and lobster tails, with options of sweet chili miso, the LV lemon pepper, and shaking hot house Cajun sauces.
Next for Shaking Crab, moving to the corner of Arville Street and Spring Mountain Road and joining the new retail building already revealed to be hosting SeaSalt Sushi & Oyster and the only Roberto’s Taco Shop in the neighborhood. An estimated opening date for the Chinatown outpost has not been announced.
Shaking Crab, 6910 S. Rainbow Boulevard, Suite 100, 702-410-5334. Open Monday to Friday from 4 to 11 p.m. and noon to 11 p.m on Saturday and Sunday.
