Blue Diamond Road now has a new pizza shop with a drive-thru with pie toppings sold by the ounce. The new Piezza, pronounced pie-eetz-a, lets customers create their own pizzas that are then weighed. Diners pay for the crust plus 60 cents per ounce of toppings. Crusts, including a 10- or 16-inch with standard dough and 10-inch made with cauliflower for a gluten-free option, start at $8.27. Among the 13 toppings, options such as peppers, pineapple, mushrooms, grilled chicken, pepperoni, meatballs, and onions.
The restaurant also offers calzones and stromboli, as well as pizza rolls, garlic knots, and desserts such as a Nutella pizza, cannoli, and the Charlie D’Amelio with cinnamon, tres leches, and vanilla custard round out the menu.
Those who choose to use the drive-thru can see the oversized wing structure created by local artist Sean Keith.
Initially, the restaurant opens at 11 a.m., but plans to stay open 24 hours a day later. Then, diners can opt for one of the breakfast pizzas, including the Logan Paul, with pesto, Swiss, Gruyere, fontina, sliced corned beef, cherry tomatoes, and a sunny side up egg. The five breakfast pizzas, served until 11 a.m., go for $7.41.
The restaurant sits on the south side of Blue Diamond Road near another newcomer, Gabi’s Gorditas and the recent Bella Vita expansion.
Piezza, 5095 Blue Diamond Road. Open daily from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
