Pastry Chef Amaury Guichon Lands His Own Reality TV Show on Netflix and More Dining Intel

Lavo heads to LA, Delilah to Miami, and more dining news

TV LAND — Amaury Guichon, the Las Vegas-based French pastry chef with nearly 4 million Instagram followers, kicks off his own Netflix show dubbed School of Chocolate. The show brings in eight pastry and chocolate professionals who learn under Guichon. After eight episodes, a winner lands a “career-changing” opportunity. No premiere date set. WEST HOLLYWOOD, CALIFORNIALavo Italian Restaurant plans to open a new location in Los Angeles on the Sunset Strip. This Tao Group restaurant won’t be party central like it is in Las Vega, instead emphasizing food over atmosphere when it opens in early 2022. [ELA]

SAN FRANCISCOMichael Mina closed his eponymous Michelin-starred fine dining restaurant in the Financial District to open Estiatorio Ornos, a Greek restaurant that recalls his seafood restaurant Aqua. That leaves his version of Michael Mina at the Bellagio, which originally opened as Aqua, as his only self-named restaurant. Ornos opens in September 2021 with shareable Mediterranean dishes including sea bass ceviche with lemon citronette, prawns in a spicy tomato sauce with dill and feta, and phyllo-crusted Dover sole. MIAMIDelilah just opened at Wynn Las Vegas with a supper club from LA-based H.Wood Group, and now it plans to land in the Brickell neighborhood in early 2022. The waterfront restaurant plans to feature two yacht slips, of course. [EMIA]

MANDALAY BAYBorder Grill is now open for dine-in and takeout daily until 10 p.m. The restaurant with two floors of patio space overlooking the resort’s lazy river opens Monday through Friday at 11 a.m. and on Saturday and Sunday for brunch at 10 a.m. [EaterWire]

HENDERSONBiscuits & Bourbon on Water Street now serves breakfast daily from 8 to 11 a.m. Options include a two egg breakfast, biscuits and gravy, fried chicken and waffle, brisket potato hash, cinnamon French toast, pancakes, and biscuit sandwiches. [EaterWire]
