The new Brew It Coffee House pushes the border of downtown’s casual-dining scene two blocks to the southwest with its opening on the ground floor of the built-from-scratch 601 Bridger Avenue building. The coffee shop promotes itself as a neighborhood coffee shop and encourages customers to “sit back, relax, and work” just south of the bustling Fremont East Entertainment District and Fremont Street Experience. Brew It will also keep longer hours than most of its downtown competitors.
The coffee shop sits close to the vegetarian restaurant VegeNation and Natalie Young’s breakfast and lunch spot Eat, and a short walk from the under construction 201 Las Vegas Boulevard S. restaurant and office complex that plans to house The Broken Yolk Cafe, Taco Reforma serving street tacos, a fourth location for the French-inspired Baguette Café from chef Olivier Brouillet, and Pachinko Pub from Mark Evensvold and FukuBurger’s Colin Fukunaga. Brew It’s corner entrance to the 1,816-square-foot coffee shop is easy to find at the intersection with Sixth Street.
Inside, the lightly industrial design includes a small sofa facing a TV, plenty of USB and AC plugs for computer work, and a mismatched collection of tables and seats. On the menu, Las Vegas-themed dripped coffee choices, featuring the dark roast Black & Silver, the caramel and Kahlua VGK, and the Ba Da Bing Cherry. Specialty drinks include a lavender honey flat white, cinnamon dolce latte, and nitro cold brews. The coffee shop also serves keto-friendly drinks, plus chai and iced teas, and offers bagels, muffins, breakfast burritos and sandwiches, salads, parfaits, apple turnovers, and bear claws.
The building houses a law firm upstairs, and still offers room on the ground floor to add a retailer or another food-and-beverage tenant.
