Originally revealed back in 2018, the first craft beer brewery to debut in North Las Vegas is well on its way to a launch later this year. North 5th Brewing Co. will operate out of 60 Mayflower Ave., five miles north of downtown, in an industrial neighborhood close to the namesake Fifth Street. Owned by Amanda Payan and her brother, Matt, new head brewer Patrick Tofte previously held the same position at Fremont Street’s very popular Banger Brewing, the closest brewery in the region.

Initial plans called for a 10-barrel brewing system, producing 1,000 barrels a year within the 7,439-square-foot building, plus the creation of a 1,100-square foot brew pub with room enough for 85 customers and a small store selling branded goods and apparel. The brewery promises a membership program for repeat customers and planned to serve growlers to go and crowlers, cans filled and sealed on site.

Earlier this year, Amanda Payan updated 8 News Now that she hoped for a late 2021 arrival, but the brewery may now be ahead of schedule. The City of North Las Vegas is expected to approve its liquor manufacturing and sales license this week and the team will be pouring its wares at Henderson’s Water Street Oktoberfest celebrations on October 16.
