13 Ways to Bid Adieu to the Twinkie in Las Vegas

View as Map

2008_10_hasmaps.jpgHostess Brands announced today that it was shutting down operations after a Bakers Union strike all but crippled the maker of Twinkies. No more "Sugar, enriched flour, partially hydrogenated vegetable oil, polysorbate 60 and yellow dye No.5. Everything a growing boy needs," as Sgt. Al Powell says in Die Hard.

In Vegas, the Twinkie makes an excellent dessert, whether fried or added to a milkshake. Some places have even created their own version of the Twinkie, while others add it to a cocktail. Whatever the method, Hostess says the final Twinkies will be shipped out soon, and despite what seems to be a never-ending stale date, there will be no more unless some heroic company comes forward to purchase the 85-year-old bakery. In the meantime, here are 13 ways to say goodbye to the Twinkie before Twinkie the Kid rides off into the sunset.
