Hostess Brands announced today that it was shutting down operations after a Bakers Union strike all but crippled the maker of Twinkies. In Vegas, the Twinkie makes an excellent dessert, whether fried or added to a milkshake. Some places have even created their own version of the Twinkie, while others add it to a cocktail. Whatever the method, Hostess says the final Twinkies will be shipped out soon, and despite what seems to be a never-ending stale date, there will be no more unless some heroic company comes forward to purchase the 85-year-old bakery.
