Where to Dine for Christmas in Las Vegas: 2020 Edition

Christmas will look very different this year with restaurants at reduced capacity, mandatory reservations, and some even offering takeout versions of dinner. These special prix fixe menus bring holiday meals without the hassle of spending hours in the kitchen. Keep in mind that many restaurants inside a casino are open on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, so if a favorite isn’t listed, it probably serves something for the holiday. If dining at home sounds safer, many of these restaurants also have options for takeout, with feasts to feed entire families. So sit back and eat yourself into a food coma without the worry of having to do the dishes this year at one of these restaurants.

A number of Las Vegas restaurants have resumed dine-in service. The level of service offered is indicated on each map point. Studies indicate that there is a lower exposure risk when outdoors, but the level of risk involved with patio dining is contingent on restaurants following strict social distancing and other safety guidelines.

A kids surf and turf comes with a four-ounce filet mignon, two grilled shrimp, mashed potatoes, and green beans for $20. The restaurant also has macadamia nut pie with Kahlua, roasted macadamia nuts, and coconut flakes served with vanilla ice cream for $12.

Bazaar Meat by José Andrés

Bazaar Meat by José Andrés at the Sahara has a dinner on Christmas Eve that features croquetas de pollo (creamy béchamel chicken fritters), jamón Ibérico de bellota hand cut from black-footed Spanish pig, and Ferran Andrià olives served in modern and traditional styles. Then, diners can order the Lhardy’s Madrid beef consommé served with sherry and a quail egg, cannelons baked pasta with goose, Ibérico pork, and foie gras, and pa’amb tomàquet featuring toasted cristal bread and fresh tomato. Entrees include milk-fed suckling lamb cordero asado with chickpea and spinach stew and Josper-roasted monkfish with mojo rojo and lemon served alongside buttered potato puree, esalada mixta, and grilled asparagus with romesco sauce. Finish with cream puffs, assorted tarts and little cakes. The Christmas Eve feast at Bazaar Meat is $95 per person. The restaurant will be open from 5 to 10 p.m. Christmas Eve and will be closed Christmas Day.

Northside Café at the Sahara has a three-course dinner on Christmas Eve with a choice of French onion soup with Gruyére, crostini, and chives or a Christmas spiced poached pear salad with baby lettuces, candied walnuts, and Champagne vinaigrette. Then, for the main entrée, select either a slow-roasted prime rib of beef with haricots verts, watercress, crisp onions, creamy horseradish, and au jus, or grilled salmon filet with parsnips, broccolini, almonds, shallots, brown butter, capers, and currants. For dessert, choose from an apple tart with caramel sauce or molten chocolate cake with raspberry and whipped cream. The Christmas dinner is $35 per person. Northside Café will be open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Christmas Eve.

It comes with confit fingerling potatoes and port wine shallots with black truffle Madera sauce. Choose to add foie gras butter for $10 or shaved truffles for $15. Through December 30, the restaurant has wagyu such as Japanese Toriyama Gunma prefecture filet ($178 for 4 ounces), certified Japanese A5 Kobe wine beef strip ($99 for 3 ounces/$159 for 6 ounces), olive fed American wagyu strip ($144 for 6 ounces), and Carara 640 Australian Wagyu picanha ($79 for 10 ounces).

Orders can be picked up on December 24 from noon to 6 p.m. The meal includes and antipasto salad, oven baked garlic and mozzarella bread, pomodoro sauce, baked rigatoni with ricotta cheese and Bolognese; and a choice of honey-glazed spiral ham, herb-crusted châteaubriand, or 34-ounce dry-aged tomahawk rib-eye steak for an additional $75, and a six-ounce cold water lobster tail for an additional $15 per tail. The dinner comes with whipped garlic potatoes, creamed spinach, and romanesco. Customers can add on peppermint bark bread pudding for $14.
