A glance through the Eater 38, the highly elite group of the best restaurants in Las Vegas, shows just how devastating the shutdown of nonessential restaurants in Nevada has been for the city. Of the 38 restaurants on the last update, only 29 remain open for takeout and dine-in service, with é by José Andrés at the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas just reopening on October 15. Some casinos reopened on June 4, giving diners more stellar options for dining, and others trickled open since. Other independent restaurants opted to close during the shutdown. The remainder still cover the entire city, span myriad cuisines and price points, and collectively satisfy all restaurant needs. Once from Ricardo Zarate closed before the coronavirus pandemic and an update to the Eater 38, while Sage from Shawn McClain at Aria announced it closed permanently. Find out how to still dine at Eater 38-quality restaurants.

A number of Las Vegas restaurants have resumed dine-in service. The level of service offered is indicated on each map point. However, this should not be taken as endorsement for dining in, as there are still safety concerns: for updated information on coronavirus cases in Las Vegas, please visit Nevada Health Response. Studies indicate that there is a lower exposure risk when outdoors, but the level of risk involved with patio dining is contingent on restaurants following strict social distancing and other safety guidelines.

José Andrés went all out with his steakhouse at Sahara Las Vegas. A raw bar with ceviches and carpaccios and a fire stage with wood grills and rotisseries make Bazaar Meat more than a steakhouse with its whole roasted sucking pig. This is one of a handful of restaurants in Las Vegas that serves real Kobe beef. Favorite dishes include the cotton candy foie gras, caviar flights, and Kobe, which can be grilled on an ishiyaki stone at the table or served in a miniature airbread “sandwich” on the specials menu. The restaurant recently added a wagyu and brisket burger to the menu. Open from 5 to 10 p.m. Friday through Sunday. The restaurant now offers large-format meals that serve up to three people, as well as à la carte selections, desserts, and beverages, which can all be ordered online Friday through Sunday for pickup between 4 and 9:30 p.m.
