Inspired by a May report of a body found in a barrel at Lake Mead, former Las Vegas Mayor and mob attorney, Oscar Goodman, will hold a special edition of the Oscar’s Dinner Series called “Roll Out the Barrels, Same Old Crap, Tony Did It,” at Oscar’s Steakhouse at the Plaza Hotel & Casino on June 29.

The three-course dinner is paired with red and white wines and the signature Oscar Goodman Martini. The dinner menu, created by Chef Ben Jenkins, offers a choice of a Caesar salad or white asparagus soup, choice of filet mignon with royale trumpet or branzino with cipollini onion, each served with seasonal sides. The dinner concludes with a dessert sampler.

Guests can book tables for parties of two people for $300, four for $600 and six for $900. Tickets can be purchased online.

Atomic Liquors is turning 70 years old this month. Opened in 1952, the historic Fremont Street bar became the first business in Las Vegas to receive a tavern license to sell liquor and operate an onsite bar. To celebrate, the bar is hosting a celebration June 17 through 19 with a Family Dinner with Atomic Staff at 6 p.m. on June 19. The spaghetti, garlic bread and red wine dinner is $8.

While permanent plans are yet to be announced for the artsy restaurant Greene Street Kitchen, a trio of test kitchen concepts are taking over the venue at the Palms. Every Friday and Saturday night, June 10 through July 30, Las Vegas chefs will serve a range of cuisines for Greene Street Test Kitchen.

On June 10 and 11, Chef Josh Bianchi will host Binky’s, a Rustic American Italian Cooking pop-up. Chefs Bryan Tejada and Gary FX LaMorte will host Makatas, a Social and Succulent Pinoy-Inspired dining experience on June 18-19, 24-25, and July 1-2. And Crystina Nguyen will host Mamasan, Fresh and Saucy American Polynesian Chinese Cuisine, on July 8-9, 15-16, 22-23, and 29-30. Greene Street Test Kitchen is helmed by Vegas Test Kitchen owner Jolene Mannina.

A members-only dining club is expanding to Las Vegas in June, offering five-course dinners at local restaurants to those who join. The first event that Tasting Collective will launch in Las Vegas takes place on June 15 at Spanish restaurant Valencian Gold. Memberships cost $165 annually, with the first 500 Las Vegas memberships costing $115. Tickets to dinners are priced at $60.
