Here's a look at nine of the new smaller restaurants that opened recently all over the Las Vegas valley, including a lot of Japanese restaurants including a must-stop izakaya, two coffee shops (including one with a Volkswagen bus tent) and more.

This coffee shops features a retro, circus theme replete with a Volkswagen tent, antique toys and model cars. "Darak" means loft in Korean, so expect to find a variety of seats including bean bag chairs. Coffee is the main feature here, but look for affogatos (coffee with gelato) and teas as well. For treats, try the macarons, cakes and honey toast.

4. Izakaya Cocokala

This izakaya with locations in Tokyo stays open until 4 a.m. right next to the Palms. Here find a great selection of Japanese microbrews and sake as well as dishes such as salmon carpaccio with uni, deep fried octopus, bakudan and a steak bowl. This place is definitely one to put on your to-do list.
